Giri & Trine´s Wedding

You are cordially invited to our wedding!

A brief outline of the day:

1pm - Receptions of guests starts, welcome drinks and some fingerfood will be served before guests take a seat at the ceremony site in the garden ready for the ceremony to take place. After the ceremony, there will be group photographs taken of all the guests.

4.30pm - Dinner will be served

6.30pm - Cakes & Coffee/Tea

As we have a photographer on site, we kindly ask all you guests to not use your phones to record or take photos during our ceremony.

About the venue:

Our wedding will be held in a mansion with a large garden. 

The ceremony will be conducted outside as long as the weather is suitable. The garden outside is an excellent playground and several outdoor games will be made available for kids of all ages. 

We will eat dinner on the first floor and then have coffee&cake and dancing downstairs on the ground floor with open access to the outside garden.

The wedding will be alcohol free and the food is served as a buffeet and is purely vegan. 

We are unsure of how far into the late evening we will be celebrating, but the venue will close no later than 11pm.

Dog notice: A very well behaved senior citizen dog is scheduled to join us at the wedding. Please let us know if you have a severe dog allergy!

Attire: Wedding formal attire, if possible national costumes (bunad or sari).

Our amazing Geir Amdal (+47 92611642) will be co-ordinating the speeches during dinner and cakes&coffee, and is the master of the whole wedding schedule. If you have any special requests or if you would like to say anything at the wedding, contact Geir Amdal first.

Choreographed dancing: Giri´s sister Poornima and her two sons are inviting children of all ages, who likes to dance, to join them in learning a simple bollywood inspired line dance that will be performed after the cakes & coffee are served. Everyone is most welcome to join! To anyone interested in getting involved with a choreographed dance (group or solo) during cake and coffee, please get in touch with Poornima (Giri's sister, +44 7885563638), or Geir Amdal (Toastmaster, +47 92611642). You will get access to a small video of the simple dance moves so you can practice at your convenience. Closer to the wedding date you will be invited to join in on a online practice session with everyone else that also wants to participate. 

Parking: 

There is free parking for those of you who are arriving by car. The available parking space is located down to the right when you have the mansion to your left. You will see a parking sign and then you turn right and down to find a larger parking area. There is an area by the entrance of the Mansion, but it is not permitted to park cars there. Please notify the servers of the house to recieve a Guestparking-pass to be placed visible inside the car on the dashboard.

Other transportation: 

Public transport: You can take a bus, number 150 (that runs between Nationaltheateret and Gullhaug), to Åsterud bus stop. From there it takes less than 10 mins to walk up to the venue. 

Taxi: You can order a taxi from "Oslo Taxi" either through their app or by calling +47 22388090.

Group taxi: For organizing of a group transport, maxi taxi, from a central location in Oslo towards the venue and back, or any information about transport, please contact best man Amrith Mathew.

As Trine is emigrating to the UK next year, we kindly are asking not to recieve physical gifts.

Accomodation: As much as we would have loved to host all of you who are travelling to attend our wedding, we only have one bedroom and this is where we are residing ourselves. Therefore we recommend you to look at AirBnB as they often have far better prices then the local hotels. Our address is Messepromenaden 4, 0279 Oslo (in case you would prefer to find a place nearby us).

Tourist info: 

As a tourist in Oslo, most of the info you'll need is available at Visit Oslo. Here you will find an overview over all museums, tourist attractions, local transport and get the possibility to buy an "Oslo Pass". 

To pay for public transport you will need to download the Ruter app, here you will also find a searchable map and all subway, tram, train, boat and bus lines and see all the time schedules.
